About MeI love being a Charger! This is my 11th year at Leestown Middle School. I have taught 5th, 6th and 7th grade. I love to teach Language Arts because we get to be creative in class. Through reading, we can see how other people think and imagine, and we can share our own ideas, too. I hope that my classroom that is a comfortable yet invigorating learning environment for every student. It is my goal that all my students find at least one book they love this year! |

Tidbitsfavorite Books |
I am married, have two kids, two dogs, and two birds. I used to work with monkeys and chimpanzees. I love to read, I enjoy knitting and working in my garden. I also enjoy sleeping.
My all time favorite book is To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The book that made me a reader was A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. (I couldn't believe books could be so weird!) Since high school, I loved science fiction, especially books considered "dystopian," or that present a frightening view of the future. I love books that ask "what if...?" These classics turned me on to this genre: 1984 by George Orwell, and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. These are books you will probably read when you get older. Until then, try some of these titles below if that genre interests you: House of the Scorpion and Lord of Opium by Nancy Farmer, The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins, The City of Ember Series by Jeanne DuPrau, The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan, The Giver by Lois Lowery, Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer |
